Welcome to Our July Practice
Welcome to a new chapter of the Mindful Communication Insider.
Over the past year, the Insider has been a place to receive reflections and practices. Beginning this month, it's becoming something more—a community where we practice calm, clear, and kind communication together.
Each month, we'll explore one practice and return to it throughout the month in different ways. My hope is that this becomes a gentle rhythm you look forward to—a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself and others.
This Month's Practice: Presence
We hear the phrase "be present" all the time.
But what does that actually mean?
How do we cultivate presence in our relationships and conversations?
What pulls us away from the present moment?
And what helps us return?
Throughout July, we'll explore how presence transforms the way we communicate—not by trying harder, but by learning to notice when we've drifted into worry, planning, judging, or replaying the past, and gently returning to what's here.
Because every meaningful conversation begins with our ability to be present.
Here's the rhythm you can look forward to each month:
🌿 Mondays
A reflection to introduce or deepen our monthly practice.
📝 Tuesdays
Journal prompts to help you bring the practice into your own life.
🎧 Wednesdays
An audio reflection where we'll explore the practice together in a different way.
🧘 Second & Fourth Tuesdays
A guided meditation to help you embody the month's practice.
💬 Second Wednesday of the Month
Our live Monthly Practice Circle. We'll begin with a meditation, explore the month's practice together, and I'll answer your questions about mindful communication, relationships, parenting, work, or simply being human. You can send your questions here. You will receive a reminder email the day of with the link for the monthly call. It will always be the same link.
There won't be any pressure to "keep up." Everything is here to support your practice, and you can engage in whatever way feels most helpful to you.
Our first reflection will arrive on Monday.
Until then, I'd love to invite you into a simple practice.
Today, notice one conversation.
You don't need to change anything.
Just notice:
When are you fully present?
And what tends to pull you away?
I'm so glad you're here.
