"I always considered myself an effective communicator, yet I struggled for years in communicating my feelings and needs to the most important person in my life: my spouse.  I joined the Intentional Communication program as a last resort, to see if I could better our communication by working on my own way of interacting.  I was wanting to gain the tools that would help eradicate the self doubt and ill confidence that kept me from saying exactly what I felt I needed, in a healthy way for for both of us.  As the course progressed, I honed skills that helped me navigate several really difficult conversations that I had always gone sideways in the past.  I gained the confidence to allow my feelings to be my guide and learned more effective ways to handle the reactions and responses from my partner.
